TIMAR, THE JOURNEY OF ARICA NATIVA

Friday, November 8th and Saturday, November 9th.

In the magical town of Timar, next to its miraculous farms with limes, lemons, avocados, pears and guavas, the community welcomes, for third year in a row, the Arica Nativa Film Festival, in the town square … Jallala! Long life to Timar!

PROGRAM

Friday, November 8th

10:00am. Restaurant opening. Breakfast and local products are offered.

12:00pm. Opening ceremony. Authorities, local leaders and organizers presentation. Pawa ritual. Tour around the food fair and home cooks.

13:00pm. Walk through Timar town: Ancestral tour of Timar Bajo. Identification of the local cultural landscape at Gaza Valley.

16:00pm. Ecological Construction Workshop: Adobe and eco bricks manufacture.

17:30pm. Agrofood Heritage Workshop: Heritage farm interpretation and local crops identification.

19:00pm. Mamita Nativa Food Fair with health products from local cooking. Host: Juanita Ringeling.

19:00pm. Historical-Cultural Tour of Timar town.

20:30pm. Artistic presentation of Timar community (music and traditional dance).

21:30pm. Special short films screening. “The Murmur of the Wind”, 30 min. “Altiplanos”, 30 min.

22:30pm. Music show with Chilean artist Evelyn Cornejo.

Saturday, November 9th

10:00am. Restaurant opening and Mamita Nativa Food Fair offers breakfast with local products.

11:00am. Inauguration of the Road to Visllujo.

14:00pm. Coronation of Timar´s Queen.

15:00pm. Discussion Panel: “History and tradition”: Oral stories of Timar´s community.

16:00pm. Closing.
